a little history
Surveyed in 1827 but barely settled until the post office arrived in 1889,
Barwon Heads grew up around fishing and, later, holidaymakers.
The original timber bridge of 1927 was eventually replaced, its pedestrian
span named for the escaped convict William Buckley.

it was the late-1990s ABC series SeaChange that made the town
famous
and put the phrase “making a sea change” into the language.
